Willa Fitzgerald Open To Scream: The TV Series Return

Over the years since the release of MTV's Scream: The TV Series, the show, which only lasted two seasons (and a Halloween special!), has gained somewhat of a cult following. It helped launch the careers of a few Hollywood up and comers, notably Willa Fitzgerald, who starred as the lead Emma Duvall.

After the MTV series abruptly ended, the show was "resurrected" on VH1 as a new standalone series (Scream: Resurrection) which only last a single season. And obviously the franchise returned to the big screen with Scream (2022) and Scream VI.

But when asked about a possible return to the world of Brandon James and Lakewood, star Willa Fitzgerald states:

"I think a lot of people love the show, and it was obviously very important to my entering this world in my career, and I have a lot of fond memories of it. And never say never," Fitzgerald shared with ComicBook about returning to the franchise. "It's definitely not something that I know is on the horizon, but who knows?"

Never say never, as they say.

Willa isn't the first cast member to speak about returning. Previously, Carlson Young also spoke about returning to the world of Scream in any capacity...

"Nobody talked to us about doing anything like that. Of course, I am still open to just get killed on-screen, I still think that's a good idea," Young shared with ComicBook about the big-screen series being revived. "But no, I was very excited to just sit back and watch the development of the films, because the show and the films were so separate."

She joked, "I just want to get slashed by Ghostface, is that too much to ask?"

So to all the fans of Scream: The TV Series, there's still a shimmer of hope...but I wouldn't necessarily bank a new season anytime soon as Scream 7 is currently in pre-production.
