PREVIEW: Interview With Scream Franchise Producer Marianne Maddalena: Part 2

Wes Craven’s long-time friend, creative collaborator, and producer, Marianne Maddalena will be back soon in the second part of my comprehensive interview with her, this time discussing Scream 2, 3, and beyond. In the meantime, I wanted to share a few cool things!…

As Marianne explained in part 1 of my interview (https://www.scream-thrillogy.com/2020/08/interview-with-marianne-maddalena.html), when she originally found the Ghostface (at the time only internally named at Fun World as “Peanut Eyed Ghost or Weeping Ghost”) while location scouting, it was actually the more rare, white shroud version of the classic, soft PVC, Fantastic Faces mask. It’s been lost to time if that mask was ever re-shrouded and used in the film at all, kept by anyone, or returned to the owner of the house if that copy was borrowed. Now all these years later I’m really happy to say I have gifted Marianne an original Fantastic Faces white cotton shroud gen 1 Fun World Div. stamped mask; the exact type she originally found!

After 25 years Marianne finally owns a nice copy of the exact mask type she originally found location scouting: a white shroud 1st generation Ghostface mask with a Fun World Div. stamp.

Found a ton more rare photos online and from friends in the Scream fan community for part 2 of our interview. Here Marianne is with Liev Shreiber, who she remembers fondly in our discussion of Scream 2 for the interview.

I also wanted to share more photos I’ve found during my research for my interview of my fave fabulous producer at more premieres for some other iconic horror films and other events! Also found an interview in Fangoria Magazine from during the production of Scream 2.
