Forget every supposed supposed update about Scream 4 in the past 8 years since the trilogy concluded with Scream 3 (2000). This is the very first time Scream 4 has been officially announced as an upcoming film. It all went down in a press release about The Weinstein Company (Dimension) signing a 7 year deal with Showtime. This is promising news for screamers indeed.
The output deal … includes the remake of David Cronenberg’s “Scanners,” re-starting the “Scream” franchise with “Scream 4,” and “Piranha 3D.”That’s all about Scream 4 for now, but you can read more about the deal here.
This deal furthers the relationship between Showtime Networks and TWC’s Dimension Films which began in 1997 with Showtime airing “Mimic,” and “Scream 2.”
