Walter Flanagan talks about how the Killer should get away.
I loved “Scream” and watch it at least one every 2 months. I also loved “Scream 2”, but there is one thing in “Scream 2” that I really did notlike. I don’t know if anyone agrees with me but killing Randy was one probably the worst thing about “Scream 2”. This got me thinking that perhaps Kevin was aiming to kill off all of the survivors of the original Woodsboro slayings, then I realised that you can’t really kill Sidney now can you? She’s come so far. Another thing I began to think about was how “Scream 3” will end. Will Dewy die, they’ve tried twice already. And what about Gail? Should she die? Will she die? And if she does, will her and Dewy die together? Another point, what about the killer? Or killers? Will there be another deadly partnership involving people close to Sidney? One thing I would like to see is Sydney turn the tables and stalk the killers for a while. OK, she did it in “Scream”, but that was only for 4 or 5 minutes.
Would anyone else like to see if not both, possible one of the killers,or the killer get away? I know I would, for a number of reasons:
A) It always finishes off the show with one final shock.
B) It leaves the door open for the return of the same killer.
C) It leaves the fans wanting more.
I know this didn’t work for me in “Urban Legend”, but then again, you can’t really compare the two can you? But on the other hand, it worked in Halloween, didn’t it, and that’s one of everyone’s favourites. It also worked in other films such as “Fallen” (Denzel Washington) when Azazel won in the end, “The Usual Suspects” (Kevin Spacey) when Keiser Soze’ won in the end and in one of my other favourites, “Wild Things” (Neve Campbell) when she won in the end. And think about it, is “Darth Maul” really dead? Oris he just waiting until Obi Wan is ready? I know it’s unlikely, but it’s always fun to think about. And hey, maybe Rebecca Gayheart will return to her evil ways in “Urban Legend 2” and raise some hell for Joey Lawrence, who recently signed up to play the lead role.
And last but not least, I love the addition of Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes to the cast of Scream 3. Hopefully they will be portraying possible mytwo favourite characters in any movie ever! For those of you who don’t know who they are, they are “Jay” (Mewes) and “Silent Bob” (Smith) from Smith’s4 films, “Clerks”, “Mallrats”, “Chasing Amy” and “Dogma”. And for those of you who do know them, snoogans.
