 News & Updates  Welcome to Scream-Thrillogy.com When Dimension Films first aquired the script to Scream, there was no way of knowing that it was about to create one of the biggest, most influential franchises in horror movie history. What became clear, as is headed into production, was that the potential was definitely there. They had Wes Craven, a legend in the field, set to shoot Kevin Williamson's fresh, exciting script. Then, the fun started! To start with, Williamson's script was something that Dimension Films wanted to make. Smart, funny...and scary!...it was not only clear that Williamson knew all the great modern horror films like Halloween inside and out, but that he loved them with a passion. It showed on every page. Dimension Films bought the script and decided to produce it right away. Then Craven came on board. The perfect director for this project. A constant innovator with an obviously rich legacy already to his credit, he understood that Scream was going to be different. He also shared, from the beginning, the vision that there would be a Scream 2 and a Scream 3 that would move the story forward, not simply remake the original twice. To this we finally added an incredible cast. From one film to the next, David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox Arquette, and the rest made it all work. The results speak for themselves. The three Scream films are individually outstanding and collectively a landmark in the industry.
