Wow! A new Scream film is officially official now. And better yet? Kevin Williamson is returning...as an Executive Producer (didn't write the script, however)! Ready or Not filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will be c-directing the film.
What's not know exactly known as of right now is if this is a legit Scream 5 or a reboot or a re-whatever.
Plot details are scarce but sources say it will follow a woman returning to her home town to try to find out who has been committing a series of vicious crimes. It is unknown if it will follow the story of the past four ‘Scream’ films or pave a new direction for the franchise.Take that for what it's worth.
Filming is set to begin in May (that was quick!).
Accompanying Williamson as Executive Producer will be Chad Villella.
