Stab Trilogy
STAB
The first of the trilogy is based on the controversial book The Woodsboro Murders by Gale Weathers, field correspondant for Top Story. The book of which was based on the true events surrounding high school student Sidney Prescott and her fight for survival in which her boyfriend and his best friend plotted to kill her, leaving multiple people dead in their paths. Even the rowdy premiere for the movie had deadly results...in which somebody was acting out their own real life Stab 2.
STAB 2
The second chapter, based on The Windsor College Murders, in the trilogy was somewhat rushed into production because the first was considered a box office success, breaking records worldwide and re-establishing John Milton has a horror producing legend. Again, this film follows the real life events that occured about a year after the first incident...the happenings at Windsor College. The entire cast from the original returned for the sequel, but Stab 2 didn't fair too well in the theatres, so it became very unlikely that they'd return for a third installment.
STAB 3: RETURN TO WOODSBORO
Not much is really known about the third chapter in this trilogy, mostly due to the fact that it was never finished. The director, Roman Bridger, turned out to be the real-life brother of Sidney Prescott. As the events unfolded, Sidney learned that it was Roman who was the mastermind behind everything that had happened. He was the bastard son of Maureen Prescott, left to fend for himself in Hollywood as his mother moved to Woodsboro to start a new life. But back to the plot of Stab 3, it was most likey some sort of prequel or retelling of the original, since many of the characters seemed to resemble those of the first. There were so many rewrites to the script that we may never know what the film could have been.
